DRUDGE HIGHLIGHTS TODAY

With barely a week to go until Election Day, McCain seems to be closing the gap with Obama but there’s still a lot of gap to close.  Zogby reports a 5.3% difference between the two as of yesterday, not an insurmountable difference but still a significant difference:  http://zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1611.  Time to take the gloves off, John!  Where is Jeremiah Wright these days?

Meanwhile, Senator Joe Foot-in-Mouth Biden continues to undermine Obama’s credibility with this satellite interview with Orlando’s WFTV Channel 9’s Barbara West.  She abandons the typical media softball approach to the Obama/Biden duo and hurls fastballs right down the middle and Biden swings and misses:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQXcImQfubM.  Ms. West covers such contentious issues as Obama’s ACORN connections, his Marxist-socialistic, share the wealth economic plan, and his lack of preparedness to deal with a crisis.

(Recall Biden’s views of Obama and McCain in the primaries and as used here in a McCain ad:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDVUPqoowf8)...

LATEST NEWS FROM BIMBO-LAND

LATEST NEWS FROM BIMBO-LAND

In case you missed them:

A.  McCain’s video featuring Paris, Britney, and Obama: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/30/mccain-ad-links-paris-hil_n_115841.html

B.  Kathy Hilton’s Objections to A:  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kathy-hilton/mccains-celebrity-ad-friv_b_116593.html

C.  Paris Strikes Back Video:  http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0808/Paris_Hilton_responds_Really.html

D.  Sadly, no feedback from Britney or her mom.

Let’s see if I have this straight.  McCain’s camp puts out a video comparing Obama to a “rock star,” which features cameos of Paris and Brit, who certainly make it more attractive.  Paris’ mommy takes offense at the frivolous waste of money showing her daughter in a video.  Paris retaliates by putting out her own video ridiculing McCain’s age.  Britney says nada.

Questions:

A.  Isn’t Barack a rock star or at least a rock star wannabe so what’s wrong with putting out that video?

B.  Does billionaire Obama-backer Kathy never waste any money and why didn’t she take offense at Paris’ other video, you know, the one showing her baby really and graphically demonstrating the art of, umm, putting out?

C.   May we anticipate more videos from Paris with most of her clothes on in support of Obama?

D.   Re: Britney, Leave her alone!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWSjUe0FyxQ

MY RESPONSE TO GREGG JACKSON'S QUESTIONS ON MC CAIN

RE:  http://www.townhall.com/columnists/GreggJackson/2008/05/29/questions_for_mccain?comment

McCain or Catastrophe--Pick Just one!

Gregg, as you know, I agree with virtually everything you wrote.

However, despite all his negatives, at this stage of the game conservatives have no other choice but to back McCain.

I know there's a different view out there--that we should let McCain lose, take our lumps, and then hope for a Reagan in 2012.

There are two significant problems with that line of thought:

1. There IS no Reagan out there that I know of who could win in 2012 and

2. Four years--or possibly 8!--of an Obama or a Clinton administration could very well be catastrophic for this nation. The probability of 4-5 vacancies within that timespan on SCOTUS is more than enough motivation to suck it up and support, campaign for, and VOTE McCain even if we have to hold our noses as we do.

We all know that politics makes for strange bedfellows. Politics also makes for compromise, as McCain knows as well.

My first, close-up and personal, campaign experience was in 1964 with Barry Goldwater. That principled father of modern conservatism stuck by his guns, and lost in a landslide.
The result was LBJ and 60,000 dead in Nam.

America can't afford to lose in 2008!
